The preschool program is completely designed for children to learn a second language. Your child will visit monthly themes created to learn a specific vocabulary set, and learn how to interact in French with all of those new words. While playing and interacting with others, your child will constantly be invited to communicate in French.
Learning a language is challenging and everyone is unique in the way they learn. Our Philosophy is a mix of Reggio Emilia, Montessori and traditional methods. By offering multiple teaching styles, the students experience different stimulating ways to approach and visit the second language.
Our three-hour sessions include: singing, playing with toys, games, role playing, dress up, writing, reading, yoga/movement, art and crafts, having lunch, and much more. The age, or level of French of each child, does not determine who does what. Everyone gets to fully participate in each activity, and everyone gets the support they need to learn at their own pace. Every child will be personally interacted with, multiple times a day, and supported through all the new challenges presented.
Here, we prefer quality over quantity, so we have small groups, fewer, but meaningful toys, and lower teacher to student ratio. This is essential to learn a second language. Our group ratio is 1 teacher for 8 students and the teacher has an assistant! This helps to make our interaction with each child more specialized, targeted, and it creates a more effective learning environment for all.
